How is Careerious Different?
Careerious is an online career solution that is built from decades of research with Fortune 500 employers in the field of behavioral science and psychometrics (the study of using personality attributes to help predict job success).
Our career test gives you objective answers about why you are the way you are. We use your test results to help determine how to most effectively improve your interaction with the world around you and your satisfaction at work. We use a very sophisticated type of personality/motivation assessment called a “normative” psychometric assessment. Normative assessments compare people to people (i.e.: an average range of people’s attribute scores to an individual applicant’s attribute scores). In other words, you can validly show people how they compare with the rest of the world, to help predict how they’ll act at work.
The science of Industrial Psychology has shown that people have certain types of stable personal attributes that consistently predict their behavior at work. For example, people who have a high need for achievement are more likely to complete work on time and with high quality. Also, this science has learned how to measure these personal attributes in a reliable and valid way. The Careerious assessment is based on this scientific foundation.
Other popular personality tests focus exclusively on the individual, identifying the relative strength of individual characteristics within each person – as opposed to comparing people to people (i.e. Normative). Assessment systems like that are designed to explain differences in personality for training, etc. – not predict job behavior, as a Normative assessment does. As a result, Normative assessments typically take longer to complete and are more expensive than these other assessments. Other top quality normative psychometric assessments are more expensive and require 1-2 hours to complete. Careerious is unique because it delivers the same high level of robustness in only 12-15 minutes -- we have made it quick and inexpensive for you!
Most resume and skills-centric systems were built for employers, not job seekers. When you enter a resume-based system, there is no opportunity to be proactive and understand your creativity or ‘soft skills.’ At a job portal, you ARE your resume.
